Lindsay Edwards

When thinking of empowering women in Northumberland County, this beautiful woman with a gorgeous smile and golden heart comes to the forefront of our minds.

We’d love you to meet Lindsey Edwards. If you don’t already know Lindsey, you should. Like REALLY REALLY should. Her quick wit – with a splash of sarcasm – makes us laugh so hard we pee our pants. Every. Single. Day. She connects with her audience (that’s us…and every other social media addict) with rare authenticity, demonstrates her selflessness by supporting our community in so many ways, and truly inspires us all to be good humans. Lindsey is the epitome of an Empowered Woman.

Lindsey is aaaaalll about Northumberland County – a lover of all things local. Since making it her dream town fifteen years ago, she holds no regrets. Two awesome kids and a divorce, plus a dog and two cats later, she has an incredible life with an incredible man (she lovingly and hilariously refers to herself as a ‘ringless wifey’), and his three kids. Enter: beautiful Brady-Bunch-style family.

Lindsey didn’t stop there! After falling head over heels in love with her real estate business, “like 99%… ok maybe 96% of the time” (LOL!) she partnered with her ringless hubby to open their nutrition store, Herc’s Nutrition, located in Cobourg. Plus, with their oldest two kids in college and university, they still have a 12, 13 and 14 year old at home, to chaurffeur all over the County!

Ummm HELLO – where does she get her energy?? Linz (ya that’s right. We’re on a nickname basis now) proves that no matter what life throws at you, happiness is what you make of it and happiness is always a choice. She shows us that by giving, we receive. Her gratitude for all the joy in her life just makes Lindsey that much sweeter and admired. ♥

A little more about Lindsey:

Age:  39

Nickname:  Linz

Occupation and Business Name: Real Estate Salesperson at Royal LePage ProAlliance Realty, Brokerage

What’s your favourite part about what you do? “It allows me the time to give back to our community. I can carve time out of my day to volunteer at my kids’ school and sit on charitable committees. I can make time to show my appreciation for the community that offers so much to everyone who lives here”

What is one way you practice “Self-Care” or “Self-Love”?Nourish.  I essentially have a standing appointment for a pedi every month. Because…I hate feet. Even my own!!”

What do you wish everyone would know about you or your business? “Real estate, as much as it is about selling an item…a building, a property, a transaction…it’s more about relationships. It’s a business about connecting with people. Realizing goals, and doing whatever I can to help my clients achieve them. We certainly don’t have to end up the best of friends (although I am lucky to call so many of my clients just that) but there needs to be a great respect, and a connection so that they know I have their very best interest at heart, and that would never be compromised.”

What’s your best advice for a woman who is considering becoming an entrepreneur? “Just…JUMP! If you have a dream, an idea, a passion…and a viable way to support yourself (and family), then JUMP!! Have zero regrets.”

What does success or happiness look like to you? “My success is happiness. Happiness at home. Happiness in my business. And the happiness in the ability to give back – both of my time and funds. I would love nothing more than to be able to give even more…and travel more. And maybe more pedis LOL!  I don’t believe everyone has the same measurement for success and happiness, but figuring out what pushes you to want to be a better person, partner and parent is key to figuring it out”

What’s your favourite dessert?  “You will always have me at “Crème Brûlée”.  Always

What’s your favourite drink after a long day? “I end every single day with a tea. But on the weekend, WINE is my favourite four-letter word (I probably shouldn’t type my favourite four-letter word through the week ha ha ha!)”

What’s your favourite local restaurant or store? “This is the WORST question!! I’m assuming “favourite” means one – although if you ask me who my favourite child is, clearly it’s plural!!! So here’s two ha ha:  George & Orange (give me all the charcuterie…and a couple of 9 oz glasses of pinot!!) and The Local Bloom”  (aside from the obvi (it’s an amazing shop!!!), Lindsay’s sister Meredith, owns it)

What’s the best thing about living in Northumberland County? “Simply…Everything. But if I must elaborate…the people, the businesses, the towns. I truly feel like I live in my dream”

What was one of your most recent indulgences?  “BOTOX. It’s my friend. Period.”

Do you have any fun tips for people about to put their house on the market? “Call a professional before you decide to put money into your house to get it ready for sale. Our market is ever-changing, and we would hate to see you put a buck into something that will not give you back the bang you were looking for.”

What’s your favourite thing about selling houses?  “The relationships I have built. From clients turned into the best of friends or colleagues that I can always count on – this business is built on relationships, and I have some of the very best.”

Ok one more time, but phrased a bit different: What’s YOUR FAVOURITE thing about living in Northumberland County? “The people. Hands down. We’re a giving, inclusive bunch.”
